Capture Naramata, an inspiring painting workshop with Vancouver artist Lori Goldberg, is being held June 8th to 10th at the Shatford Centre.
Friday afternoon will be a workshop overview and intro with a short social gathering after.
Then spend a day in Naramata. Draw, paint and photograph at different locations gathering ideas for more developed artwork. Demo on different drawing and painting techniques given throughout the day. Each location will include an interactive experience intended to enhance your experience and learn more about the uniqueness of the area. A picnic lunch is included.
Back in the studio at the Shatford we will use the field studies from the day in Naramata and develop an idea into a complete painting. Demos on composition, how to begin a painting, brushwork, palette set-up and colour mixing will be given. Emphasis will be on each student’s individual development and on enhancing his or her technical skills and personal expression. Lunch will be provided both days.
All levels are welcome – all that is needed is an open mind and a willingness to expand your creative experiences. Register early to ensure workshop space availability.
Cost is $400. Okanagan School of the Arts members pay $380 for the workshop.
