The next presentation for Creative For Life “Pioneers and Places” will be at 10 am, January 25th at the Shatford Centre.

Presenter Ron Wilson, son of Earle Bliss and Margaret Jessie Thoms ( Ladell) Wilson, was raised in Summerland and Trout Creek.

His grandfather Clark Wilson moved from Snowflake, Saskatchewan to Summerland, raised his family and worked at the Research Station.

Ron has become very busy tracing his family history. For this presentation, Ron will share some of what he has learned about his mother and her family.

Margaret was born in Austin, Texas and at age 3 ½ her family travelled to Canada, ending up in Bittern Lake, Alberta remaining there until a final family move
to Victoria, B.C in her early teens.

Her career brought her to the Okanagan and marriage to Earle Wilson.

Attendees are welcome to bring and share photos or other memorabilia that they feel is related to his topic- eg. Summerland Research Station, Trout Creek or Summerland proper.

The Shatford Centre is located at 760 Main Street in Penticton.
