Everyone is invited to events to celebrate our aboriginal cultures. The day begins with a sunrise ceremony being organized by the En’owkin Centre on Green Mountain Road. From 9 am to 3 pm, everyone is invited to the Ooknakane Friendship Centre at 146 Ellis Street, where you can enjoy smudging and a prayer, teepee teachings and traditional food. There will be vendors also.

In partnership with the En’owkin Centre and the Okanagan School of the Arts, at 4 pm festivities begin with a Mini-Pow Wow being held at the Shatford Centre at 760 Main Street in Penticton. There will be dancers, drummers, singers, entertainers, vendors and the opening of the Resurgence Exhibition, which will happen around 6 pm. After the opening of the exhibition there will be a community meal, so bring your appetite.
