Be inspired at this painting holiday workshop amidst colourful lavender fields, vineyards and historical buildings. It is a painters’ paradise.
Engage all of your senses in this expressive and inspiring painting workshop. This is the fourth annual Capture Naramata workshop with Lori.
We will be painting Plein Air, spending time in the painting studio and enjoying beautifully prepared lunches with locally sourced food adding a holiday aspect to this wonderful workshop.
Thursday evening 6.30 to 9.30 pm – Meet the Artist Night
Artist talk, presentation with refreshments and workshop introduction.
Friday 9.30 am to 4.30 pm
Spend the day in Naramata. Draw, paint and photograph at different locations gathering ideas for more developed artwork. Demo on different drawing and painting techniques given throughout the day. Each location will include an interactive experience intended to enhance your experience and learn more about the uniqueness of the area. A picnic lunch is included.
Saturday and Sunday 9.30 am to 4.30 pm
Back in the studio at the Shatford we will use the field studies from the day in Naramata and develop an idea into a complete painting. Demos on composition, how to begin a painting, brushwork, palette set-up and colour mixing will be given. Emphasis will be on each student’s individual development and on enhancing his or her technical skills and personal expression. Lunch will be provided both days.
All levels are welcome – all that is needed is an open mind and a willingness to expand your creative experiences. Register early to ensure workshop space availability.
