Negative Painting for Positive Results with Kit Bell

Negative painting is an alternative approach in which the subject is established by painting around the object rather than by painting the object itself. Learn how to start a painting with a loose, colorful under painting and to establish the subject itself with the use of negative painting. Discover how the use of negative shapes can improve your composition and strengthen your design. Adding negative painting to your repertoire will give you a valuable tool to increase your skill as a painter. Kit combines demonstrations with lots of one on one time to help you get the most out of this workshop.

Price of workshop includes Day 2 attendance at the Connections Conference.   Lunch and coffee breaks included for the 2 days.

FCA members receive a $25 discount – to receive your discount please call the office at 250-770-7668.

Kit Bell AFCA is an active artist who is Membership Chair with the FCA-COC living in Kelowna, B.C.  Throughout her life, she always sketched and painted, and although her professional career took her into the world of computers, art always remained a strong interest.  When Kit moved to Ottawa, she began to paint the local landscape in oils.  She studied at the Ottawa School of Art and exhibited her work at galleries and art fairs for several years.  She returned to BC and continued with her love of landscape.

She seeks to record the transient effects of light and the seasons on the landscape.  Kit wants to share what her trained artist’s eye, and imagination sees, with others.  Working in a variety of media allows her to choose the best process for an image.
